RGD Falling - Final by cluis RGD Falling - Final by cluis
1 and a half hours in for what will be a 4 hour drawing. Oh boy colors. Work IN Progress.

UPDATE: Totally hit the 3.5 hour mark and had to rush through the finishing :( all the same, took alot of inspiration from :iconfunkymonkey1945: not to mention focusing on composition and large forms, also credit to him for all the tuts.)

Love the brush work!  The effect is very Scott Blair-esque.

Hey man thanks! I kinda base my style at the moment of :iconfunkymonkey1945: who is also inspired by J.C. Leyendecker. It is a long chain that gets us here :)

Yeah, he's actually how I came across your gallery!  I was reading a critique that he posted of your work, but I was so impressed by the initial painting that I had to come and check out the rest of your gallery.  I'll have to check this Leyendecker guy out.  I'm not familiar with him, but he must be good!

Leyendecker is dah man. There is alot of his stuff out there on the web, as people are rediscovering him. He was a contemporary of Rockwell, so he is a bit in his shadow as things go.

lovely. Especially the expression, body language, and the lighting. The way you did the light around her cheeks and on the sweater is an interesting choice that works.
